Ricca Okano is a ceramic artist whose work draws inspiration from nature and emotions.

Preconceived notions or traditions do not constrain Ricca's work; instead, she researches shapes and colours that she finds beautiful. Her forest studio is immersed in nature, and she creates work that projects her daily motions, from the changing colours of the sky to the textures of various plants.

Ricca uses a wheel to create soft clay shapes for cups, then layers engobes and precious raw clay pigments onto the surface. She uses a glass glaze on the inside of her cups to create the illusion of flowing water. She creates figurative cups that can be appreciated from every angle.
